Big Jon Pro Tournament Electric Downrigger details:
I have two of these on my boat. You will not regret buying a DR with the Auto Stop feature. No more fumbling with on and off buttons while you are trying to land a fish. I use 10 lb pancake type weights (what I consider the min for deeper trolling, 50+’) Any weight that will keep your DR wire from going past a 45 degree angle to the back of the boat. Straighter down the better, for better accuracy on depth. This DR will bring up anything – fast. If you adjust your fish locator transducer to the right place, it will show you exactly where your ball is, and can adjust your footage counter to match. You want to be right over the top of the fish. Depending on the lure you are pulling, it may run deeper than the ball, which is good, but you have to account for that. Anyways, enough fish tips. I would buy this one again in a heartbeat. These consistently put more fish in my boat.
Big Jon’s “Pro Tournament” electric downrigger is the step up from the “Captain’s Pak” that many tournament fishermen have asked for. The new sealed, “High-Torque” motor will retrieve a 12 lb. cannonball at 140 feet a minute.
