Scotty 2106 review
- tilt-up boom
- digital counter
- takes a little finesse to handle
I purchased mine end of last month from a different seller for $90.11 Cheaper than listed price here plus free shipping. 2 weeks ago this was priced at 649.99 here on Amazon plus Shipping. I would have purchased everything here like most stuff I do. But the savings was to great.
I also purchased the Scotty 6″ extension base and power cord from same outdoor outlet and happy to say it was a breeze to install on our 1997 2509FW Trophy Hard Top w/Twin Mercury 150”s. Took my time and in less than a couple of hours I was in full operation mode.
To off-set my costs. I sold my old Cannon HP’s with swivels bases locally for $300.00. So this set-up really was only $427.00.
I will get another Scotty set-up before next years season begins. I don’t know where I seen or heard this quote I have below, but fishing at 140 feet of water & reeling those Cannons at that depth was taking the fun out of fishing. Not to mention the wife’s shoulder.
I have neck, wrist, and shoulder problems, but like to go fishing with my husband. So, he bought me this electric downrigger to make it possible to keep fishing with. I like the downrigger very much. It is sturdy. My only criticism would be that it is almost too powerful. It takes a little finesse to bring it up, so it doesn’t come up too fast. But, wow, it sure streamlines getting the line up or down quickly, multiple times.
